Hand painted glass jars for spices. Set of Six jars in decorative gift box. All jars are sold empty.
Description
Artist meticulously hand painted images on 3″ tall glass jars for Parsley, Thyme, Oregano, Turmeric, Chia Seed and Mustard Seed. Colorful lettering in bright green for names, detailed plants, uses are showcased and history is whimsically portrayed. This gift set of six attached lock top lid jars make a perfect gift for imagery, storing herbs and conversation. The jar for Thyme shows an Egyptian holding embalming jars, a Roman purifying the air, flavoring wine and beef with omelet rolls. Turmeric was used in wedding ceremonies in India, used with pepper for better absorption and the plant roots, called rhizomes, are used to make the spice. Mustard Seed is used to glaze salmon and benefits include: aide to easing pain, weight loss and stimulate hair growth. Parsley was considered sacred to Roman athletes, rich in nutrients and not just an average garnish. Chia Seed is from the mint family, promotes sleep and thickens smoothies. WWII soldiers brought Oregano back to the US from Italy, Englishmen used it in their snuff and if worn during sleep, will promote psychic dreams.
