Description
Artist meticulously hand painted 3 1/4″ tall glass spice jar with colorful images, characters, text, leaves, history and folklore around 6″ circumference. Attached lock top lid with rubber seal. Acrylic paints on glass sprayed with a clear varnish for a glossy finish. One tough glass container for its size.

Oregano is spelled out in bright green letters against a black background for impact. A very content, sleeping character is having wonderful dreams. Text depicts the folklore of the herb being worn while one is sleeping to promote psychic dreams. A tiny crystal ball is below. A WWII soldier holds the herb to display the history. The spice was brought to the United States by soldiers returning from England. In Elizabethan times, the English used the herb in snuff. A properly seated Englishman holds a compact of the stuff getting ready to snuff. A sprig of leaves are hand painted against a white background. White text against a deep maroon background depicts the herb’s origin from the Greek phrase: “Joy of the Mountains”.
